Even though summer is almost over, Bergamo is always awake. The arrival of the fall season brings with it a series of events absolutely not to be missed. Whether you happen to be in the province or in the city centre, it does not matter: Bergamo is ready to greet the fall season with amazing fairs and festivals! From science to food and wine products, from mountain to manual laboratories, from slow food to local tourism…
Here are some events you should mark on your calendar!
Moscato di Scanzo: the first event is dedicated to the famous Moscato di Scanzo, the Italian DOCG wine produced in the hilly area of Scanzorosciate. From 7 to 10 September, visitors will enjoy this delicacy in the fascinating village of Rosciate, a few miles from Bergamo, and many other local specialties such as honey, oil and cheese. Many guests of honour such as Atalanta footballer players, the Foppapedretti Volley Team and the charismatic actor Leonardo Manera will liven up the festival. Three days of pure fun in order to rediscover rural traditions and local cuisine.
The Earth Market: every second and fourth Saturday of the month, from 9am a to 2pm, in Piazza Cavour – Bergamo – you will have the chance to visit the Earth Market, an important Slow Food agricultural meeting. This is the perfect place where to buy seasonal fruit and vegetables, local cheeses, cured meat, wine, eggs, homemade honey and jams, and where to taste authentic and genuine products. Many playful activities and children’s workshops are also planned to share with everyone love and respect for the environment.
NF Travel & Technology Expo 2017: If you work in the tourism industry and you are in the province of Bergamo, this is the event for you! On September 25 and 26, you will have the chance to attend one of the most important Business to Business events across Italy. This is the 15th edition for NoFrills, a unique opportunity to know, promote and get in touch with local tourism realities and the latest tourism trends. Bergamo Science: Now at the 15th edition, Bergamo Science keeps awakening everyone’s curiosity and interest. In this festival, the main character is science, in all its possible declinations, and the trump card is the scientific divulgation, in all its possible forms. From September 30 to October 15 the city will host a series of lectures, workshops, exhibitions and scientific activities. Alta quota: this year the exhibition centre of Bergamo will have the pleasure of hosting Alta Quota, one of the most long-awaited events by professional climbers and mountain lovers. From 13 to 15 October, visitors will have the chance to buy the most popular sports items for skiing, walking and travelling to the highest mountains in Europe. Many specialized stores, tour operators and cultural tourism promoters will be focussed on the Orobie Bergamasche. The event is completely free of charge.
Creattiva: Imagine being able to use fantasy and creativity in a thousand different ways, imagine a showroom full of courses, demonstrations, workshops, shows and manual activities, imagine you can work on paper, ceramics and glass, you can attend decoupage lessons, do wood engravings and make amazing cakes, you can make beautiful mosaics and learn scrapbooking … now imagine this space is real and accessible to everyone.
